The need for food assistance in Collier County continues to steadily grow, so in order to keep up with the demand, the St. Matthew’s House food distribution team is moving into a larger food warehouse.
From January to April, our food assistance team has seen an over 35% increase in the number of households served through our weekly distributions. In April alone, St. Matthew’s House, along with partners like the Harry Chapin Foodbank and the Midwest Food Bank, fed over 25,000 households!
Due to inflation and school letting out for summer break, we expect the number of families needing assistance to continue rising.
