Addiction Recovery

Walking with individuals through structured recovery programs that lead to lasting healing, personal responsibility, and restored lives.

Justin’s Place Recovery Program

After several years of operating shelters in Southwest Florida, it became clear that substance abuse was one of the leading causes of homelessness. In response, St. Matthew’s House in partnership with the Holecek Family Foundation established the Justin’s Place® Recovery Program to provide long-term, faith-based, affordable recovery services. Justin’s Place is designed to empower participants to find freedom from their addiction. Spanning twelve months, the residential program integrates the 12 Steps, Biblical principles, and peer accountability. Through counseling, case management, peer support, and work therapy, participants begin moving from a position of crisis and instability to one of sobriety and restoration. Justin’s Place also includes intentional education and support for the families of our participants. Upon graduation, the alumni association continues to provide support, community connection, and healthy social activities. Each year, Justin’s Place provides residential recovery services to more than 312 individuals.

Family Restoration

The Justin’s Place Recovery Program emphasizes family restoration, recognizing that healing extends beyond the individual in our care. Our dedicated Director of Family Restoration facilitates the reunification process, working closely with Justin’s Place participants and their loved ones to rebuild trust and relationships. Through personalized counseling and support, we guide families in navigating the challenges of recovery together. This holistic approach not only aids in the individual’s recovery journey but also strengthens the entire family, fostering long-term sobriety and healthier, more supportive home environments.

Alumni

The Justin’s Place® Recovery Program alumni network ensures that connection and support continue long after participants graduate from our recovery program.

Our alumni director supports individuals who have successfully completed the Justin’s Place® Recovery Program, providing aftercare, ongoing encouragement, and resources for sustained recovery. Through meetings, classes, and social events, alumni can connect with peers, share experiences, and continue their journey towards lasting sobriety. The alumni network, its staff, and volunteers foster a sense of community and provide accountability, empowering alumni to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and strength.

To date, the alumni network includes more than 800 men and women who have successfully completed Justin’s Place® Recovery Program.

Jail Chaplaincy

The St. Matthew’s House jail chaplaincy is inspired by the teachings of Matthew 25, where Jesus instructs his disciples to visit those in prison. Dedicated to providing spiritual support and guidance, our chaplains offer compassionate care, counseling, and religious services to incarcerated individuals in Collier County and Hendry County jails.

With a focus on fostering hope, healing, and personal growth, our program seeks to address the holistic needs of inmates. Our chaplains also serve as liaisons between inmates and community resources, including other St. Matthew’s House programs, helping to facilitate reintegration upon release.

Each year, the St. Matthew’s House jail chaplaincy program facilitates more than 2,000 face-to-face interactions with inmates.
