Donate Goods

In-kind donations are an essential part of our programs because they help meet the immediate needs of people in the community.

Food

Whether it’s picking up a few extra items while grocery shopping or looking through your pantry and sorting out unneeded items, know that when you donate food to St. Matthew’s House, it directly goes to people in need. Between our soup kitchen, client-choice pantry, and daily resident meals, food is an ever-present need for the programs at St. Matthew’s House.

Another helpful way to give back is by hosting a food drive. All you have to do is pick the dates and rally the people whether that’s at your church, at your school, or in your neighborhood.

Hygiene Items

Soap, deodorant, feminine products, hair care items, lotion, sunscreen, lip balm, toothpaste… for people experiencing homelessness or struggling to make ends meet, these items are often not a priority despite being labeled as “essentials” by most. So, whether you have travel sizes accumulating in your closet or purchase in bulk, consider donating these items to St. Matthew’s House. Some are packed into kits that are then distributed to our residents or people experiencing homelessness in our community; other items will be held at our pantry for people to pick-up alongside their groceries.

Another option is to host a hygiene drive. We’ll provide the signage, bins and a driver to pick it all up when you’re done.

Household Items

Furniture, appliances, equipment, clothing… we take it all! A large portion of these items go to our thrift stores with proceeds funding the administrative costs of St. Matthew’s House while other items are provided to our programs for residents in need.
