Welcome to our monthly Spotlight e-newsletter full of organizational updates, upcoming events and other ways for you to get involved!

We want to start with a congratulations to the latest graduating class of Justin’s Place our 12-month residential addiction recovery program. In March, 21 individuals crossed the stage celebrating their new life sober and full of hope. If you’d like to watch the livestream, you can find it on our YouTube channel.

“I just really appreciate everything that goes into running a program like this,” said one graduate. “Thank you for giving me love when I couldn’t love myself.”

And earlier this month we celebrated Easter across our campuses providing over 650 meals to people in need in Southwest Florida.

And we just recently cohosted Pole Vault in the Plaza at Mercato. A big shoutout to Simon Weardon who spearheads this event as a passion project and generously donates all the proceeds to St. Matthew’s House.

We also want to give a big thank you to those who live in Pelican Bay and their sister neighborhoods. Barb and Julie ran their annual food drive and ended up collecting over 18,000 pounds of food which will feed over 35,000 people through our Food Assistance Program. If you’re ever interested in hosting a food drive in your neighborhood, contact our team by emailing [email protected] or calling (239) 774-0500 x3128.

Looking ahead, on May 2, we’re excited to announce that our very own LuLu’s Kitchen will be participating in the Naples Hot Dog Safari. You can visit the events page on our website to learn more about this event and purchase a score card to participate. All proceeds will be donated to St. Matthew’s House.

St. Matthew’s House served hundreds of hot meals at Lulu’s Kitchen this Easter, ensuring no one in the community had to spend the holiday alone.

Lulu’s Kitchen, which usually serves customers, opened its doors to anyone in need of an Easter meal. More than 500 people were expected to walk through the doors.

“We believe that Easter is about more than just going to heaven when you die, it’s about the fullness of life that’s available to us right now,” said Ben Bridges, CEO of St. Matthews House.
