In January, Lee County volunteers conducted the Point in Time (PIT) count, and recently the data was released showing that 560 individuals are experiencing homelessness.

It’s no surprise that with increased inflation, more and more people are struggling to pay for housing leaving them with few options.

St. Matthew’s House runs the only two homeless shelters in Collier County, and we’ve recently seen our shelter waitlist skyrocket. We’ve also seen rising counts of both elderly individuals and families that need shelter.

With about 100 people on our shelter waitlist, we’re grateful to be able to expand our Naples shelter by 50 beds in the near future.
