Naples, FL (November 19, 2021) — St. Matthew’s House Board Chairman Joe Trachtenberg announced today that Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO Steve Brooder has been named chief executive officer of Matthew’s House.

“As we conducted a comprehensive global search  for a new leader, the St. Matthew’s House board of directors carefully observed the emergence of our best possible choice from within our ranks. Steve joined St. Matthew’s House in 2014, with a diverse 30-year management background in both for-profit and not-for-profit businesses. His financial and leadership skills have strengthened our ministries, especially during 2021, in his service as interim CEO,” stated Trachtenberg.

During his seven years as chief operating officer, Brooder led St. Matthew’s House through many significant organizational changes as the not-for-profit human services organization experienced explosive growth and increasing need for its services.

“I’m very honored and blessed to be named CEO of St. Matthew’s House,” said Brooder. “Our mission is all about service to others focusing on hunger, homelessness and addiction recovery. And that’s what motivates me every day. I’m very excited about our future with such a great staff and so many awesome volunteers. I want to sincerely thank our board of directors for this opportunity to lead such a vital and dynamic organization.”
