(Naples, FL) Steve Brooder, Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO for St. Matthew’s House, has earned the PROSCI change management certification, the most widely recognized change management certification in the world.

The PROSCI certification program, currently utilized by 80% of Fortune 100 companies, is a change management program that combines scientific principles with a focus on the people side of change to deliver exceptional training programs and ensure optimal organizational results. Its methodology was developed from the world’s largest body of change management research compiled over the last 20 years.

Brooder chose to pursue the certification after leading a great deal of change due to the explosive growth at St. Matthew’s House. He noticed a growing need for leadership to better navigate through changes. When Brooder completed the certification late last year, he had no idea how much change would be experienced in our society due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Change management expertise is no longer a recommendation. I think it’s a key ingredient to the success of the significant initiatives our organization is undertaking,” Brooder said.

The PROSCI certification complemented Brooder’s extensive background in organizational development, allowing him to reinforce many of the ideas he was already familiar with while learning new change management concepts and best practices.

“Change management is needed anytime you have a shift or adjustment in your work environment or organizational structure,” Brooder said.

Recent studies have reinforced the need for change management. PROSCI’s Best Practices in Change Management benchmarking studies revealed that 93% of participants with excellent change management skills met or exceeded objectives, while only 15% of those with poor change management skills met or exceeded objectives.

While leading the organization through COVID and other organizational changes, Brooder’s renewed focus is to create awareness of change management and its tremendous value on improving the success of the organization’s goals and objectives.
