Empowering reintegration by fostering employment opportunities, housing, and community engagement.

Transitional Housing

The two-year transitional housing program at St. Matthew’s House offers a supportive and empowering environment for individuals and families exiting our shelter and recovery programs. Wolfe Apartments and Justin’s Village operate as sober-living communities with sub-market rents, allowing residents to build credit as leaseholders and increase savings needed to achieve housing of their own.

With a focus on fostering independence and self-sufficiency, residents receive not just a place to stay, but also access to a range of supportive services. From life skills training and employment assistance to financial literacy education and counseling, we equip our residents with the tools they need to succeed long-term. Our goal is to break the cycles of homelessness and addiction by providing a pathway towards future stability and success.

Each year, St. Matthew’s House provides transitional or permanent supportive housing for over 200 men and women and children.

Job Skills & Training

Since our inception, St. Matthew’s House has worked to provide jobs and job training to individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction or poverty.

Our thrift stores, restaurant, catering company, hotel & conference center, and program operations offer individuals the opportunity to gain the skills and hands-on experience needed to find and keep meaningful work. Trainees also benefit from soft-skills development, including resume building, interview skills, and personal growth.

Each year, St. Matthew’s House trains and employs more than 100 program participants seeking to relaunch their careers. On average, 40% of St. Matthew’s House entire workforce have personally benefitted from our programs.

Alumni

The Justin’s Place® Recovery Program alumni network ensures that connection and support continue long after participants graduate from our recovery program.

Our alumni director supports individuals who have successfully completed the Justin’s Place® Recovery Program, providing aftercare, ongoing encouragement, and resources for sustained recovery. Through meetings, classes, and social events, alumni can connect with peers, share experiences, and continue their journey towards lasting sobriety. The alumni network, its staff, and volunteers foster a sense of community and provide accountability, empowering alumni to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and strength.

To date, the alumni network includes more than 800 men and women who have successfully completed Justin’s Place® Recovery Program.

To afford living in Naples after her husband passed away, Linda moved in with a roommate. When her roommate developed dementia and had to move into assisted living, Linda found herself homeless at 78 years old. Now, with the help of St. Matthew’s House, Linda’s found a fresh start.

This summer, thanks to St. John’s Episcopal Church and anonymous donors, your gift will be matched!
