As the only facilities of their kind in Collier County, the Campbell Lodge and Immokalee Friendship House provide critical resources to men, women and children experiencing homelessness. Our shelter network includes dormitory-style housing for unaccompanied adults and private family units for parents with children.
Rather than simply offering short-term relief, St. Matthew’s House and its partners work to facilitate holistic rehabilitation and lasting change. Our shelters meet basic needs while providing access to medical and mental health care, job training and placement, educational opportunities, benefits enrollment, life-skills, financial literacy, spiritual development, legal assistance, and more. By leveraging these resources, our shelter residents begin moving from crisis towards stability and ultimately reach their full potential as contributors to our community.
Each year, the St. Matthew’s House shelter network serves more than 1,100 men, women and children experiencing homelessness in Southwest Florida.
After several years of operating shelters in Southwest Florida, it became clear that substance abuse was one of the leading causes of homelessness. In response, St. Matthew’s House in partnership with the Holecek Family Foundation established the Justin’s Place® Recovery Program to provide long-term, faith-based, affordable recovery services.
Justin’s Place is designed to empower participants to find freedom from their addiction. Spanning twelve months, the residential program integrates the 12 Steps, Biblical principles, and peer accountability. Through counseling, case management, peer support, and work therapy, participants begin moving from a position of crisis and instability to one of sobriety and restoration. Justin’s Place also includes intentional education and support for the families of our participants. Upon graduation, the alumni association continues to provide support, community connection, and healthy social activities.
Each year, Justin’s Place provides residential recovery services to more than 312 individuals.
The Justin’s Place Recovery Program emphasizes family restoration, recognizing that healing extends beyond the individual in our care. Our dedicated Director of Family Restoration facilitates the reunification process, working closely with Justin’s Place participants and their loved ones to rebuild trust and relationships. Through personalized counseling and support, we guide families in navigating the challenges of recovery together. This holistic approach not only aids in the individual’s recovery journey but also strengthens the entire family, fostering long-term sobriety and healthier, more supportive home environments.
