Naples, FL — May 25, 2022 — St. Matthew’s House CEO Steve Brooder is pleased to announce that St. Matthew’s House has received a $30,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation. These funds will help St. Matthew’s House buy food for distribution to families experiencing food insecurity.
“St. Matthew’s House is grateful to the Collier Community Foundation for this greatly needed support for our food distribution program. First, there was the pandemic impacting vulnerable Southwest Florida families. Now, in addition to the pandemic impacts that are still affecting individuals and families, they are struggling with inflation. We currently are distributing 20,000 to 25,000 bags of groceries a month to families experiencing food insecurity.”
The Collier Community Foundation awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. Selected organizations receive grant dollars from the Community Impact Fund. This Fund is made up of donors who believe in the Community Foundation’s ability to identify and grant funds to provide support for the community’s most current needs.
