On Monday, November 15, over 100 volunteers from many different organizations arrived at First Baptist Church Naples to help with the Turkey Drop sponsored by Capital Wealth Advisors. During this annual event, turkeys and other Thanksgiving foods are packaged together for distribution.
This year there were between 2,500 and 3,000 meal boxes packed up during the Turkey Drop, and starting Wednesday, November 17, St. Matthew’s House will distribute these Thanksgiving meal kits to families across Southwest Florida through a total of five “Hope for the Holidays” food distributions.
The Turkey Drop is a prime example of people from across the community coming together to help the less fortunate. It truly encapsulates the heart of St. Matthew’s House, and we’re so grateful for those who help make this possible, especially this year with food costs so high.
