You may not see them, but homeless camps exist across Collier County. When these camps are cleared out, those people need somewhere to live. One option is to find a bed at a homeless shelter, but unfortunately, the St. Matthew’s House shelters have had a waiting list since 2010.
Ray Steadman, our Vice President of Shelter Operations and Food Assistance, said, “We have 49 individuals and families on our waitlist today.”
