“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.”
Helen Keller
Those words from Helen Keller remind us that we are never in competition with those around us. In fact, when we work together our resources, energy, and efforts are multiplied as it becomes less about us and what we can do and more about the individuals we serve.
That’s why we’re grateful for our community partners, like Mary Crowley and Mt. Olive AME in Fort Myers. Through their efforts, along with Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity and Midwest Food Bank, we were able to rally together to serve a record-breaking number of families. 861 families in fact, in less than 2 hours in the Dunbar community. What a blessing!
We also fed 856 families Thursday, July 16th at First Baptist Church of Naples for a total of 1,717 families fed in a single day. Tuesday’s distribution at Golden Gate High School fed 625 families.
So this week, St. Matthew’s House helped feed an incredible 2,342 families in Southwest Florida. God is good!
