In our beautiful Southwest Florida communities, it can be easy to forget that some of our neighbors are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to make ends meet. With school starting, some families in the area find themselves trying to choose between purchasing back-to-school clothes and supplies and buying groceries. Fortunately, for these families—and others among us suffering from hunger—St. Matthew’s House operates a fully-stocked food pantry filled with nonperishable grocery items generously donated by area businesses, churches, supermarkets and individuals.
But we need your help!
Because of the back-to-school expenses, late summer is when there is a spike in grocery needs. Unfortunately, this need comes at the time of year when we have the fewest donations to our food pantry and thrift shops.
Can you donate some groceries or clothes to our thrift store to help a family get through these lean months? Every little bit helps.
Our pantry needs the following items: pasta, pasta sauce, tomato products, mac and cheese, canned meats (tuna and chicken), dry cereal, dry beans, and canned vegetables.

We are also in need of clothing and shoes for men, women, and children to stock our thrift stores. The proceeds from our thrift stores goes to fund the many poverty-reduction programs offered by St. Matthew’s House.
You can drop-off items at any one of our thrift stores listed below during regular business hours.
