St. Matthew’s House is supported by donations and revenue generated by its thrift stores, catering service, car wash and other enterprises. Those businesses employ the shelter’s clients, giving them a way out of poverty.

Why not start at a place where a dramatically new program is enjoying real success?” Ehrlich writes. “Here in Southwest Florida is the perfect model for the Trump era.”
