Preparing for Irma
St. Matthew’s House needs your help.
With growing concern, we watch closely as Hurricane Irma gains strength in the Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center reports it’s too early to know the specific impact on U.S. mainland, though Irma will potentially impact Florida’s coastal communities. Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for every county in the state to help state, federal and local governments work together.
We are planning and preparing for that impact and St. Matthew’s House is calling on our supporters to donate items if Irma decides to visit Southwest Florida. If our area is spared, these items will be sent to the areas that need them most.
Here is a list of what we currently need:
- Bottled water (with our current population we need 774 gallons)
- Juice box drinks
- Canned meats (tuna, chicken, beef)
- Single-serve snacks (nuts, trail mix, granola bars)
- Canned vegetables
- Canned fruit
- Dry pasta
- Pasta sauces
- Paper plates
- Plastic utensils
- Sterno fuel cans
- Throw pillows
- Baby wipes
- Hand Sanitizer (alcohol free)
- C Batteries
- AA Batteries
- Heavy-duty flashlights
- Painters tape
- Can opener (non-electric)
We accept donations on Monday – Saturday from 8 AM – 4 PM 2601 Airport Road South, Naples, Florida 34112
