Case Manager - St. Matthew's House
I was born in upstate Michigan, and moved to Naples in 1992 when I was eight years old. My mom had me at 16, and my dad was never involved. I was a difficult teenager, very rebellious. When I turned 18, I started college in Michigan and was partying all the time. I was arrested in Feb. '09 and have been sober ever since. After a three month jail sentence, I entered the Salvation Army's DOC treatment program. Three months into the program I got pregnant with my son Caleb. That's when I decided to work on really changing my life around. After completing the Salvation Army program I had no place to go. I came here in December '09 and stayed here until September '10. I continue to work toward making the right choices. Through my stays here, SMH has helped to hold me accountable. Currently I work as a case manager at St. Matthew's House. I am now off all government assistance! I am very grateful to God and St. Matthew's House, as they have allowed me this opportunity to change my world.
