Finding and asking sponsors for support
- Players are requested to find sponsors at $1, $2, $5 or $10 per hole, or a specific gift, and to have the goal to raise at least $1,000 in pledges. (It costs St. Matthew's House approximately $250 for each player to participate).
- Proven fund raising principle: If you feel strongly enough about a cause to give money yourself - ask others to follow your example and they will contribute. This is simple to prove - just try it.
- Most successful technique used in past years: Use one of the personalized sponsorship letters or emails we will have provided for you. All you need to do is hand out the letter or mail it to your friends or associates (your Christmas card list is a great resource). You will be gratified with the high percentage of those who will fill out the coupon and return it. Read a sample version of this letter.
- Personalized email: We can send you a customized email to forward, complete with links to the Golfathon registration page and information about St. Matthew's House. Many people will appreciate the quickness and ease of online sponsorship.
- Or, we will do the complete mailing. Provide us with pre-addressed labels or a file in Excel format and your signed letter, and we'll send it out for you.
